A funny thing happened as I tried to do paint behind: I couldn't find it.
I checked the class board to see if other were having the same issue. But no. Others had posted completed assignments.
Well, shame on me, I had never installed Version 8.10. Now I have and -- knock wood -- am experiencing fewer crashes as well as finding more a few more features here and there throughout the program. Thanks for the nudge Rollie.
These are my experiments with paint behind.
Tumbling boxes uses a brush I created for Fun with Paint at various rotations and opacities. While it may not be useful anywhere else, I felt it truly demonstrated the layered effect possible with paint behind.
Broken dots adds the airbrush paint behind to a brush paint behind and the polka dot preset brush.
Foreign precipitation demonstrates the airbrush paint behind three layers of the brush with paint behind.

Never knowing when to stop, I added a pattern and mask that contoured the edges which made it appear to be outside a window.
So I had to add curtains and give it a pinch. But it looked to old-fashioned so I used the hue map to update the colors.
I don't love it. But it was a good opportunity to experiment.
