Early Days
Pre TOE
This is the earliest of my Paint Shop Pro Virtual University Table of Exercises pages. The original was so horribly ugly, I coudn't put it on my new server. So I did a remake with a Dreamweaver template. The exercise pages remain in their pure unretouched form.
These images were created in Paint Shop Pro 5. My daughters are much taller now. There were some even earlier lessons — possibly Paint Shop Pro 4. But they seem to have vanished into cyberspace. Just as well. They were from the preTOE error and had little organization. Just a bunch of images. They are probably on floppies somewhere.
During this first recorded course, we learned about animation and integrating sound files the first week, so be sure to turn your speakers on. Hit refresh to hear it again. We also learned about watermarks, which was carried over to week two.
In week three, we revisited Animation Shop. We were to use tubes to add animation to jpgs. In those days, I was limited to the tubes that came with PSP or those I could find on the web. Now I can create the tubes I need. Week three part two featured our first experience with Anfy. Unfortunately, I cannot view any of my Anfy work on Internet Explorer 6 now that I have installed Windows XP Service Pack 2. But Firefox does a great job with these Java applets.
In week four we used cloning and colorization. Then we used selection to islolate one element of an image. We gave that element a new background. Then we used Animation Shop to animate the image and its background.
We used Anfy to create a mosaic in week five. I must say my little Kelly aged much better than the grownups we see behind her.
