I scanned these placing a white cloth over them to create better contrast than the black of my scanner cover. (72KB) Here I created a pair of vector hearts, then played with filters. (44KB) Although I don't love the product, it was fun figuring out how to achieve it. I used my stained glass pictures from week one. Applied Kaleidoscope filter. Created a hexagon selection on separate layer. Made the hexagon into a mask. Added bevel and drop shadow. (119kb) I had a lot of fun creating this virtual junk drawer with tubes. It took a lot of trial and error — clicking and deleting until the right tube component showed up. Scaling the items was a bit tricky, too. In addition to my own Grrlthings and Kaleidoscope tubes, I used several tubes downloaded from the Jasc site. The knobs are vector shapes. The carpet is blue with noise added then fur. The original was much larger and some clarity was lost in the reduction.
