What's Inside

Playing with Paint Shop Pro 8 is an endless source of creative fun. It can eat up the good part of a morning and then some of the afternoon.

In this series of tutorials, we played with Simplifier. This is plugin filter. See week one for examples of its application. Week one also featues sparkles.

If you like animation, check out week two. Here you will see animated gifs made with Jasc Animation Shop. Animations can be simple like the page background which alternates between just two different dings. Other animations on the page required more images. This page features more animations than you would normally place on a page. So brace yourself for an eye circus.

Week three displays virtual stained glass, pictures frames made from tubes, masks and another animation created with vectors.

In Week Four, we used visual noise to create animation. The floor below Sweetie above is an example.

And finally, in Week Five we created a carousel horse using a line drawing and various patterns. Almost like coloring.

Dreamweaver This page is created using a Dreamweaver MX 2004 template. It is so dran easy to use. You just place your cursor in the area you want to write in and you write. It could become a little boring though. All the pages would look alike if you used these templates. Dreamwever also allows you to create your own templates, which I have done on this site and this one

New Server I recently moved my site to a new server. I am trying to get all the files uploaded, but I have run into a few glitches along the way. For example, the original TOE for this page was a Flash animation. It did not transfer well Also I have found that my WEFT fonts are not working; I guess that is because I changed my domain name. If you have taken Introduction to CSS, you know that you have to tell WEFT all server roots before you create the page.

New Domain Name It was difficult to come up with a new domain name. I wanted something a little more creative than glokraemer.com, but most of the great names are already taken. I tried several of my favorite words with no luck. I decided on gloshideaway.net because my website is just that for me. Here I can indulge my creative side: graphic arts, photography, writing and publishing.

Encryption As I upload each new page, I check for broken links and missing images. I've also encrypted or deleted each email address. Having my email address on my web pages has had a negative effect on my email box: too mcuh spam! Those spamheads think I need everything from knockoff prescriptions to mortgages to baseball caps. Well, I hope the encryption works.
